Some of our customers recently had authentication failures when trying to log into Howie Filter. This issue will only affect a portion of our users. This problem is occurring because a cookie that is saved internally with the browsing software is corrupt and using incorrect information. The solution that fixes this problem is to delete all
cookies from the browsing software (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Macintosh Safari). Follow the instructions below for the particular software you use.
Internet Explorer (Version 6.0)
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on Tools across the top.
3. Select Internet Options found at the bottom.
4. In the middle of this window under the heading Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete
Cookies. Click OK.
5. Again click OK to close the Internet Options window.
6. Now you will be able to log into Howie Filter.
Internet Explorer (Version 7 or later)
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click on the Tools button located on the right-hand side.
3. Select Internet Options found at the bottom.
4. In the middle of this window under the heading Browsing History, click Delete. In the new window, make sure the option Delete
Cookies has a check mark in the box next to it. Click Delete.
5. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
6. Now you will be able to log into Howie Filter.
Mozilla Firefox (Version 3.0.10)
1. Open Firefox.
2. Click on Tools across the top.
3. Select Options found at the bottom.
4. Click on Privacy across the top.
5. Click on Show
Cookies, found in the middle of the window on the right-hand side.
6. Click on Remove all
Cookies.
7. Click Close. Click OK.
8. Now you will be able to log into Howie Filter.
Macintosh Safari
1. Open Safari.
2. Click on Safari and select Preferences.
3. Choose Security across the top.
4. Click on Show
Cookies.
5. Click on Remove All. Again click on Remove All.
6. Click on Done.
7. Now you will be able to log into Howie Filter.
